This map shows the status of each Council’s VOA within the Northeast Region. Green means the VOA is functioning well, Yellow means the VOA is struggling, Red means that a VOA is nonexistant, and Grey means that we do not have information as to the current VOA status of that Council. If you are aware of the status of a Grey Council, or wish to inform us as to changes to another Councils Status, please e-mail vpcomm@nerventuring-bsa.org.
You can find the name of each Council just by clicking on its shape on the map.
- Green means that a Council VOA is running efficiently, has all officer positions filled, is following the Standard Operating Procedures (or other set of bylaws), and is actively participating within the Area VOA.
- Yellow, or struggling, means that there is a genuine interest in establishing a VOA in a Council, but they VOA isn’t running efficiently by holding events/trainings, officer positions are vacant, the VOA has no established plan for continuity of leadership, or are not actively participating within the Area VOA; this status could also mean that the VOA is hanging on the edge of forming for disintegrating.
- Red simply means that a VOA is non-existent.
Statuses are determined by the above criteria and by talking to each Council VOA President, and the Area VOA. The Area VOA has direct contact with each Council VOA and can accurately assess their status while remaining objective.
